Gurugram: Developers of Malibu Towne booked for flouting rules
GURUGRAM: The developers and directors of Malibu Towne, a residential project on Sohna road, have been booked for multiple violations of existing norms related to the development of a private colony, including layout plans, illegal constructions and encroachments.
An FIR was registered at Sadar police station on the complaint of the district town planner (DTP) after an “unsatisfactory reply” from the developer regarding the violations.
On September 14, DTP RS Batth had issued a show-cause notice to builder regarding the violations but the developer failed to comply with the directions. Batth said there were multiple complex issues in the projects and these were forwarded to the director of DTCP after verifying them through site visits. “The residents had also filed complaints on various platforms, including Lokayukta,” he said.
Batth said the developer was issued a licence for setting up of a residential plotted colony under Section 3 of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.
Highlighting about the violations, Batth said the developer has encroached upon the park, the sewerage treatment plant has been set up without obtaining approval, changes in the layout plan was made without obtaining necessary approval, the floor-wise registration policy dated March 2009 has not been complied with, completion certificate has not been obtained yet and maintenance of the colony has is not done properly, services laid in the colony along with linkages with master services as per approval is not justified as still bore wells are being used, zoning plans of the community site are not complied with and many other violations of terms and condition.
The developer could not be reached for his comment on the issue.
Earlier in December, Lokayukta had directed to form a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the roles of all director generals of town and country planning department since 1992, for allegedly overlooking the rules and regulation related to the development of Malibu Towne.
