Gurugram: NBCC Green View buyers meet deputy commissioner seeking refund

GURUGRAM: With no resolution even after vacating their homes in March this year, homebuyers of NBCC Green View in Sector 37D met the deputy commissioner on Monday and sought that the matter of pending refunds of their flats be placed in the next district grievance redress committee meeting.

The buyers alleged that the developer hasn’t complied with the district administration’s order asking NBCC India to refund the amount paid by allottees towards their flats, along with applicable interest, as per the law.

Instead, the developer has sent an arbitrary proposal to the allottees offering the amount they paid in 2012 without interest or compensation, they said. “The developer is trying to put pressure on us to accept their one-sided offer,” Deepak Kumar Jain, the treasurer of the Green View Apartment Owners’s Association, said.

G Mohanty, the association president, said, “We have decided to stage protests, including a hunger strike, if justice isn’t served.”

Deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav said the matter will be placed in the next grievance panel meeting. “We have also raised the matter with the ministry of housing and urban affairs.”

Representatives of the developer could not be reached for a comment.
