Gurugram: HSVP clears jhuggis, shops from land earmarked for housing society

GURUGRAM: The enforcement wing of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) on
Wednesday razed around 200 jhuggis and shops from a 3-acre prime land in Sector 57. The
land earmarked for a group housing society was encroached upon and several jhuggis had
come up there, an official said.
The land was acquired by HSVP long back but over a period of time as many as 150
jhuggis,five shops selling construction materials and two dhabas had come on the land.
SDO (survey) of estate office-2 of HSVP (Gurgaon) Satyanarayan said the land was earmarked
for development of a group housing society. “Now the land has been cleared from
encroachment and we will prepare a development plan for the land soon,” the SDO said.

Junior engineers Balraj Singh, Sandeep Lot, Naresh Rana, Yogesh Kumar, Vikash Saini and
Amandeep said they are carrying out a drive against encroachment to free HSVP land. Last
week around 2.5 acres of prime land in DLF area was cleared of from encroachers.
HSVP is reeling under financial crisis and trying to monetise its land to clear the due. The
authority has taken several thousands crores of bank loans and is paying monthly instalments of
Rs 100 crore.
