Gurugram: Around 200 Mahira Buildtech buyers protest, demand possession

GURUGRAM: Around 200 homebuyers of affordable housing projects of Mahira Buildtech protested against the developer and the department of town and country planning on Sunday, demanding possession of homes.

The department had recently cancelled the licence of the project in Sector 68 for irregularities, including the submission of forged and fabricated bank documents.

The department had also blacklisted the company and restricted authorities from issuing any licence to them in the future.

Dhruv Kapoor, a homebuyers said, “The department should allow construction of the project as buyers have already paid the entire amount and are also paying rent. This is a burden on us and is causing huge problems.”

Another buyer said that they have been trying to meet chief minister Manohar Lal and deputy CM Dushyant Chautala but got no response. “It seems the state government and its authorities including DTCP, Heera and others are not bothered about the aggrieved families” he added.

No construction activity has been going on at the sites for the last two months.
