Don’t submit false complaints of building violations in Gurugram: DTCP

GURUGRAM: After seeking the help of RWAs in identifying unauthorised construction and violation of building norms in properties of licenced colonies, the department of town and country planning (DTCP) has now warned the association members against filing of malafide complaints with an intention to settle scores.

On November 27, the department urged the RWAs to report any building violations by property owners after obtaining the mandatory occupation certificate (OC), along with photographs and plot numbers. “But if the association members are found filing complaints against property owners with malafide intention or for the purpose of blackmail, the department will initiate criminal proceedings against them,” district town planner (enforcement) RS Batth said.

In an earlier notice, the department had said that despite increasing the floor area ratio (FAR) and allowing the construction of the fourth floor in residential properties in licenced colonies, many plot owners, developers, contractors and architects were found violating the building norms after getting the OC. And in order to check this menace, the DTCP constituted teams and sought
cooperation from the RWAs in identifying such violations like construction in balconies and extension in front or back of the houses.
The notice also requested the RWAs to send photographs with plot numbers in case of violations.
