UP-RERA penalises Supertech, Antriksh Realtek, others for non-compliance

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has penalised 11 promoters of Rs 2.5 crore for non-compliance of its orders.

The authority passed these orders under the provisions of Section 63 of the RERA Act which empowers the Authority to impose penalties up to 5 per cent of the cost of the project for non-compliance of its orders by the promoters.

Five of the promoters who have been fined include Newtech Promoters & Developers who has been penalised Rs 46 lakh, Supertech has been fined Rs 34 lakh, Lucknow Development Authority has been fined Rs 57 lakh, Tulsiani Construction and Developers has been penalised Rs 30 lakh and Antriksh Realtek has been fined Rs 27 lakh.

Rajive Kumar, chairman, UP-RERA said, “Whereas quite a larger number of promoters are abiding by the orders of the authority, some of the promoters have not complied with its orders. The authority as per RERA Acts and rules will continue to take actions and impose heavy penalties against the errant promoters so that the promoters start complying with the orders of the authority and homebuyers can get the possession of their dream houses.”

The authority has further directed these promoters to deposit the amount of penalty imposed upon them within 30 days, failing which recovery certificates will be issued against them for recovery of the amount through respective district magistrates.
