Noida authority team to visit Gujarat & Haryana to look for financial models for new township

NOIDA: The Noida Authority is planning a study to determine the most suitable financial model for
acquiring land in the upcoming Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR).
The Noida Authority planning team has received instructions to conduct an extensive study of the financial models used in other states—Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Officials said the planning department’s general manager will visit the states to submit a report on their financial models. After that report is ready, the Authority board will present it to the state government for
approval. CEO Ritu Maheshwari said the study would assist the Authority in identifying the most effective ways of
acquiring land. “The Noida Authority is determined to explore all options before a decision on the financial model for land acquisition in DNGIR. One way is to go on acquiring land, but we want to explore other ways of doing that,” Maheshwari said.

The School of Planning and Architecture has prepared a master plan for the DNGIR, but it is yet to be
approved by the Authority board. However, the Noida Authority has raised some queries about the
DNGIR financial model, prompting this recent move to address issues.
The Noida Authority has proposed developing industrial units in four phases on 8,811 hectares of the
21,000 hectares included in the region. Over Rs 8,500 crore is needed for infrastructure development on
3,000 hectares in the first phase. An estimated Rs 40,000 crore investment will be made in the area during
the same period, creating job opportunities for more than 50,000 people.

This year, Noida Authority has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for land acquisition and internal development in
DNGIR. This amount will fulfil a significant portion of the land requirements of the Noida Authority for
MoUs signed during the UP Global Investors Summit in February this year.
The Authority would likely present the master plan at the next board meeting.
