Gurugram: Vipul Lavanya road blocked, court seeks builders’ reply in a month
GURUGRAM: The district court on Friday has issued a notice to two developers and officials from the department of town and country planning (DTCP) after the RWA of Vipul Lavanya filed a petition seeking a restraining order against the blocking of the main access road to the society. They have been told to submit their replies within 30 days.
The land on which 24-metre access road to Vipul Lavanya was built was earlier owned by developer Vipul Ltd, which later sold it to SRV Automotives Pvt Ltd. In December last year, SRV blocked access to the society by installing fences and excavating the road despite the fact the road was part of its approved layout plan, residents claimed. “We have been running pillar to post for months, but all we have got are false assurances. We were left with no option but to approach court,” Sunil Yadav, president of Vipul Lavanya RWA, said.
Sumit Bajaj, a resident, said: “The road at the back of the society is narrow and with schools about to reopen, buses won’t be able to reach the society. In case of any medical or fire emergency, we will be helpless.”
When contacted, a representative of SRV Automotives Pvt Ltd said, “The land belongs to us
and we are only working on our licensed area. If there is any query from the department or
court, we will duly submit our reply to them.”
Meanwhile, a Vipul representative said: “We built the road as per the licence conditions and are
in talks with residents for a solution.”
On Thursday, DTCP directed SRV to find an amicable solution within a week. “We have written
to SRV to submit a report in a week, otherwise action will be taken against them.” said Narender
Solanki, officiating senior town planner.
