Gurugram: Soon, DTCP nod a must for registry in 146 villages

GURUGRAM: In a move to check mushrooming of illegal colonies on agricultural land, the department of town and country planning (DTCP) has proposed bringing 146 villages in Gurugram under Section 7A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.

As per Section 7A of the Act, registration of sale deed of a plot having a size of less than 0.5 acre is not allowed without a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the DTCP. The rule has been mandated across 95 villages in Gurugram.

With the villages being notified under Section 7A of the Act, the DTCP plans to impose a check on the haphazard and unplanned development of illegal colonies.

The district town planner had sent a proposal to the DTCP head office in May this year to include 63 villages under the Act. The department has now revised the proposal and included 146 villages of Gurugram, requesting their inclusion in the Act.

According to DTCP officials, most of these 146 villages are situated in Pataudi and Farrukhnagar. After continuous demolition drives in Badshapur, Sohna and Bhondsi, the developers of illegal colonies have shifted their focus to these villages as they don’t require NOCs from DTCP for registry of sale deeds of land here, thus making it easy for developing illegal colonies.
Gurugram: Soon, DTCP nod a must for registry in 146 villagesIn his letter to director DTCP KM Pandurang, district town planner RS Batth said it has been observed that these villages are vulnerable from the point of unauthorised construction and illegal colonies, therefore should be brought under the Act.

Batth said, “It was brought to my notice that registrations of sale deeds in urban areas notified under Section 7A were taking place in Gurugram without NOCs. The details of such registries, gathered by the department, have been sent to the deputy commissioner.”
