Gurugram: DTCP tells tehsils to submit data on builder floor registries

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has written to tehsildars of all eight
tehsils in the city to share data on registries of builder floors executed after the self-certification scheme
was launched seven months ago.
DTCP had given power to architects to issue occupation certificates (OCs) to buildings under the scheme
in November last year.
Under the scheme, architects registered with the Bar Council of Architecture can issue OCs after verifying
all safety-related parameters and submit the file to DTCP.
The department received a tip-off that some property owners and architects got registry of builder floors
executed without submitting the OC file to DTCP, officials said.

In a recent letter to tehsildars, district town planner (planning) Rajesh Kaushik said DTCP has circulated a
standard operating procedure for issuance of OCs under self-certification by architects for residential units
on individual plots falling within licensed plotted colonies in the state.
“It is relevant to mention that architects have issued occupation certificates for individual plot floors and
have submitted case files to the office of DTP for the records. But in some instances, registry of individual
floors were executed without submitting the file after grant of OC,” he said.
Kaushik further said tehsildars of
Gurgaon, Wazirabad, Manesar, Sohna, Pataudi, Farrukhnagar, Kadipur, Harsaru and Badshapur have been
asked to provide detailed lists of sale deeds, conveyance deeds and registries of residential plots and
floors executed by these tehsils since November last year so that DTCP records can be cross-checked to weed out such cases.

Kaushik also appealed to prospective buyers of builder floors to ensure that the OC file has been
submitted to DTCP before purchasing such properties.
