Gurugram civic body commissioner ask officials to streamline property ID process

GURUGRAM: Hundreds of homebuyers in the new sectors and villages, falling under the extended area of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), are unable to register their properties due to irregularities in issuing of property ID, a unique identification number given to each property.

Not just this, some civic officials have issued IDs to unauthorised properties, following which complaints were filed with the department. There were reports of some staff members asking for bribe to generate property IDs.

Taking immediate action to resolve the issue, MCG commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh has assigned the responsibility of generating IDs to deputy municipal commissioner and district town planner.

In his order issued on Tuesday, Singh said that in compliance of the orders of the director, urban local bodies department, it is directed that deputy municipal commissioner is designated as checker (taxation) and DTP is designated as checker/admin (temporary ID, development charges, approved/unapproved) in respect of management of No Dues Certificate Portal of MCG. “The admin will designate makers from among the regular employees of the corporation in respective zones. Strict compliance of the order will be ensured,” he said in his order.

Animesh Sharma, a resident, said he has bought a property in Sector 70A, falling under Badshapur tehsil. “At the time of registration, the revenue official is asking for property ID but when we checked it through MCG, they are saying we have not got data for Sector 70A, therefore property ID couldn’t be generated,” he said.
