Greater Noida: 1,450 apply for 83 industrial plots on offer

GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Friday held
a draw for 83 industrial plots, for which the number of applications was as high as 17 times.
Officials said there were 1,450 applications for the plots, which ranged from 450 to 2,000sqm.
More than 1,350 of these applicants opted for a one-time payment, the officials said.
On November 3, GNIDA had announced the scheme for 90 industrial plots in Ecotech 1
Extension 1 and Ecotech 6 sectors. While 83 of these plots were to be offered after a draw of
lots, the remaining seven — which are over 4,000sqm in size — would be allotted after
interviews.
The officials said the 83 industrial plots were expected to generate revenue of Rs 173 crore for
GNIDA and an investment of around Rs 700 crore. About 2,000 people are likely to get
employment opportunities too.

“All plots were taken and many of the allottees opted for one-time payment. The Greater Noida
authority will earn Rs 173 crore from this,” said Narendra Bhooshan, the GNIDA CEO.
The draw of lots started at 11am in the GNIDA auditorium. Senior officials, such as additional
CEO Deep Chandra, general manager (finance) HP Verma and others, were present. Of the 83
plots that were on offer, seven were 450sqm in size while 49 were 1,000sqm each. The
remaining 27 plots measured 2,000sqm. Officials said allotment letters would be issued soon.
“Lease deeds would be done as soon as the plot amount is received. All green (non-polluting)
industries can set up their units here,” said Santosh Kumar, in-charge of the industries cell at
GNIDA.
