Coughing up hefty fees, but no amenities like roads: Umang Winter Hills’ residents

GURUGRAM: Homebuyers of Umang Winter Hills said they feel cheated as even after paying huge amount as external development charges, they are still not getting the basic facilities.

Over 130 families live in the Sector 77 society for the past one year but find commuting very difficult in the area in the absence of a proper motorable road. They added that there is no concrete road connectivity and even if rains a little, the road turns muddy and numerous potholes emerge. They alleged that they have been raising the issue with the developer and Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) but have only got false assurance in return.

Ravikant Sharma, a resident of the society, said, “We got possession in May 2020 after the delay of five years and since then we have been struggling to get basic amenities here. We have also raised the issue with the deputy commissioner of Gurgaon and MCM commissioner.”

Mudit Tandon, another resident, said that even after holding regular meetings with the developer and IRP, no solution has been reached. “There is no proper road connectivity from our society to national highway-48. Whenever it rains, the pothole-riddled road becomes a pool and this is also damaging our cars,” he said, adding that even cabs are reluctant to come to our society.

When contacted, Manish Gupta, IRP, said that he is already in touch with all stakeholders to resolve the issue amicably.

“There is a land dispute and we are trying to solve that first.”

Meanwhile, a representative of the builder said that they demarcated an area for the construction of the road but rest of the land needs to be acquired by the authorities.
