Ban on sale of properties in 25 more societies in Gurugram: DTCP

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning (DTCP) has banned the purchase
and sale of properties in 25 residential and commercial projects in the city over various licence
norm violations and non-payment of dues, including external development charges (EDC). The
department has also ordered tehsildars not to execute any sale deeds in these societies, an
official said.
District town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia said the action was taken against 25
societies built by 19 developers and notices have been pasted at the properties after the
directions from the DTCP director’s office. Three days ago, the department had taken action
against 18 projects citing the same reasons.
He said after an action was taken against societies earlier, a few developers have enquired
about the move and claimed they have already applied for the licence renewal at the directorate.

“DLF has informed that for their commercial property in Sector 42, an appeal has been filed and
after that the same has been sent back to DTCP for deciding the same, which is still pending.
Similarly, GLS Infraprojects has also informed that all the dues have been paid to the
department and a renewal application is submitted at the directorate’s office in Chandigarh,
which is also awaited,” said the official.
When contacted, spokesperson for GLS group said all dues to the departments concerned have
been paid and the renewal has been applied according to the norms.
“Apparently, if all the requisite formalities are being done by the developers in a time-bound
manner, the department will not initiate such action. Somewhere, there is a delay from the
developers’ side for compliances,” said an official.
Madholia said it is only the compliance of the DTCP order and this office is bound to act as
directed, as the compliance report needs to be sent to the directorate.
DTCP has identified more than 50 projects with similar violations, but action has been taken
against 40 projects so far. The remaining projects will face similar action in the days to come.
