YEIDA can finally hand over 55 plots in sector 33 after a decade

NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has bought land in Sector
33 to finally hand over 55 plots that were allotted about a decade ago.
The Authority has also started development work in sectors 32 and 33.
The plots were allocated to MSMEs in 2013, with 1,769 plots in Sector 32 and 144 plots in Sector 33.
However, the land for 55 plots in Sector 33 was never acquired.
This came to light last year when approximately 30-35 industrialists submitted an RTI query to YEIDA to
inquire about the status of their allotted plots.
In April this year, YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh held a meeting with these entrepreneurs, assuring them of land acquisition and plot possession within three months.

During the meeting, industrialists also raised the issue of inadequate infrastructure —roads, lights, power,
and drinking water facilities — in the two sectors.
“We have bought the land from the farmers. Now, these plots will be developed (construction of civic
infrastructure, including road construction) and handed over to industrialists. An agreement has been
reached between the Authority and the farmers to address this issue,” stated Singh. Imran Ghani, one of the allottees and the secretary of the Yamuna Expressway Entrepreneurs Association,
claimed that they have not been informed about the land acquisition as of now. He added that when they
visited the area at the end of July, they did not witness any development taking place in the area.
