Six flats razed in Antriksh Golf View 1, builder’s men & Noida authority team come to blows

NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Friday demolished six flats-cum-shops in Sector 78’s Antriksh Golf View 1 society. The drive was suspended after representatives of the builder tried to stop the demolition
and came to blows with Noida officials.
The structures, officials said, were constructed without mandatory approvals from a competent authority
and in violation of the original building plan and were in the stilt area of three towers—A, B, and C. The enforcement team from Noida punctured the partition walls and razed doors and windows to initiate
the demolition process in the evening. The operation was interrupted when representatives of the builder “instigated a commotion” that lead to a physical altercation, officials claimed.

Noida officials have lodged a complaint against the builder at a local police station, citing obstruction of
duty and assault on officials.
“Due to the critical nature of illegal construction, the enforcement team punctured the partition walls and
razed the doors and windows. However, these were not razed completely as the builder’s representatives
created an uproar at the site,” said an official from the Noida Authority.
Police, meanwhile, claimed they had no prior information about the drive. Noida officials, however,
asserted a letter had been sent by the additional chief executive officer (ACEO) to the assistant commissioner of police (ACP) on Thursday, requesting police presence during the operation.

Before commencing the demolition on Friday, the team even visited the police station to secure police
assistance.
Antriksh Golf View 1, which houses 1,200 families, has been under scrutiny for some time. Seventy-two
flats have been allegedly constructed illegally by the builder in the slit parking area, of these the
demolition of 32 has been stayed by a court order.
In May 2022, Noida sealed 11 more flats within the society following complaints of illegal construction in
the stilt parking area. Some residents alleged the society’s building layout plan indicated 217 stilt parking
slots, raising concerns about the unauthorized structures.
Friday’s demolition drive was launched against the remaining 29 illegal flats, the official said. In Antriksh Golf View 2, too, flats have been constructed illegally in place of stilt parking. Efforts to reach the developer for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
